The Senior Accountant position will handle all inventory control duties in a fast and busy work environment. This position is responsible for providing support to the Inventory Control Department as it relates to daily inventory transactions, inventory reconciliations, reporting, item master and process improvements.  This position will also assist other areas of Accounting such as General Ledger, Brokerage and Ad Hoc Reporting.


  • Perform and reconcile inventory GL accounts month-end closing; able to identify and clear the variances if exists.
  • Provide adhoc analysis, which includes but not limited to inventory disposal, inventory loss, scheduling variance, Copacker PPV and brokerage accrual.
  • Communicate with various departments and/or outside warehouses regarding inventory issues.
  • Reconcile and review ERP inventory with outside warehouses monthly
  • Post inventory adjustments to match with the warehouses records or other departments’ requests.
  • Receive POs for warehouses assigned and be able to reconcile transactions and resolve the variances, if any.
  • Maintain Item Master -- Assist NPI and Master Data teams for entry and upkeep of item master records and update item master and item branch information.
  • Simulate and Freeze the costs accurately for Raw Material and Packaging items
  • Prepare monthly brokerage and allowances files, understand the advanced pricing and the brokerage process, able to research and resolve brokerage-related problems.
  • Maintain and update SharePoint portal for Inventory Control Team.
  • Assist with external and internal audits process, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
  • Maintain financial security by following JSOX and financial audit procedures.
  • Assist in process improvements and optimization, which may include the process documentation and flowcharts.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
  • Subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Ajinomoto Food’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, assisting the Ajinomoto Food health plan with day-to-day activities involving protected health information, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting and renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, Accounting or Business concentration
  • 3+ years of experience successfully and accurately handling core duties in accounting position in a moderately complex mid to large company preferred and/or manufacturing or other production environment.
  • Computer proficiency including MS Office programs, data and 10-key accuracy.
  • Intermediate Excel experience required.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), superb interpersonal skills
  • Strong work-ethic is critical for success in this position.
  • Experience with JDE, Oracle systems, or similar a plus.
  • Licensed CPA a plus.
