  • Overview

    The Sales Service Manager (SSM) is focused on providing administrative and office support activities to the Costco customer and other duties as required.  Duties include fielding customer phone calls, dealing with email queries, data entry, management of promotional funds, and creating/managing spreadsheets and general customer and team support. In addition the SSM will also be required to make occasional visits to the Costco locations.


    Administrative Support & Customer Order Management


    • Establishing personal relationships with Costco, working closely with the Costco ICS’
    • Run daily inventory reports to insure inventory levels at DCs are sufficient to cover open orders
    • Work hours will be based on covering the East Coast time zone.
    • Field all issues when appointments are not booked and/or POs refused/not delivered as scheduled.
    • Maintain accurate records for all active items; pricing, specifications, etc.
    • Review shipping reports and invoices and notify Costco of any discrepancies in advance.
    • Communicate and resolve all issues proactively and with a sense of urgency.
    • Track and deal with member complaints and queries.
    • Initiate and manage special projects as they occur.
    • Prevent / Minimize deductions through order accuracy
    • Deduction Resolution – research and resolve; file claims as needed
    • Post Audit Resolution – research and resolve; file claims as needed


    Marketing / Analytics

    • Schedule, track, and reconcile all marketing budgets to ensure promotional activity occurs and fiscal year commitments are met; includes demos, displays, coupon promotions, etc.
    • Make sure adequate orders are placed and delivered accordingly.
    • Work with planning/forecasting and production teams to ensure product is produced and staged based for regular turn business and demo/promotional activity.
    • Schedule road shows as needed.

    • Track projections vs actuals POs for all promotions.
    • Update Promotional Calendar and send to the appropriate accounting team.



    • Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a sales support, finance or customer service environment and a degree is a plus.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to be organized and work within a broad range of functional areas.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and corporate departments.
    • Ability to work well in a “team” environment. Proficient skills in budgeting, forecasting, promotional analysis, written and oral communications, presentation skills and personal computing (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
    • Position requires stamina and ability to handle multiple tasks, make decisions and at times work with ambiguous situations.
    • Must be able to work under time constraints. Must be a self-starter with a positive can-do attitude. Ability to travel on occasional business trips.
    • SSM work closely with the management, sales teams, supply chain, customer service, finance, production, and Costco personnel on a daily basis.  
    • This position is a go-to position for the sales team and Costco so the job responsibilities may change as the business continues to evolve.
