    This position is responsible for supporting the Director of Logistics by acting as a Logistics Coordinator for Imports and Warehouse/Shipping subject matter. This role will help manage shipping and warehouse movements and processes. This to include tendering freight to customers including inbound and outbound freight. This position will also assist with warehouse and CHEP inventories assist with warehouse/logistics projects when assigned. This person will help support both warehouse and Logistics departments when needed.



    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate Logistics for our Imports from Asia with our Customs Brokers.
    • Follow up and reporting regarding Imports/Exports.
    • Coordinate with third party manufactures pick-ups and delivery of finished goods and raw materials.
    • Effectively communicate daily and as needed operational updates verbally, via e-mail, and via telephone.
    • Coordinate Windsor Foods Private Fleet for customer deliveries and raw materials pick-ups.
    • Ability to use JD Edwards TMS.
    • Ability to assist plants with carrier related issues.
    • Ability to assist Customer Service Group with O&SD-RGR and POD.
    • Resolve issues with carriers, customers both internal and external.
    • Create, maintain the Master Bill of Lading.
    • Create, maintain the Carrier Data Base.
    • Create, maintain DOT Files.
    • Create reports that help assist the Windsor Foods plants in transportation cost savings.
    • Assist in auditing freight payables for accuracy against contracted rates.
    • Provide import and export process support with other AFNA locations.
    • Import claims – processing, submitting and monitoring all claim related to imports.
    • Ensure rates are accurate based on latest RFP and our TMS and source alternative carriers if rate do not match or exceed negotiated prices.
    • Support Ontario warehousing team with stock transfers and redeployments. Ship confirm ST’s.
    • Responsible for the importation of Yakisoba and Chow Mein from China. Coordinate the release with the customs broker and their carriers to secure prompt delivery into the assigned distribution centers. Assist the broker in sourcing a carrier when availability is low at their end.
    • Help maintain and clear all SO, R55 and other errors that are generated from JDE daily.
    • Clear routing errors that customer service faces daily.
    • Reconcile CHEP inventory weekly for Ajinomoto DC’s and make adjustments once verified on their CHEP website.
    • Generate a monthly Aging Report. Analyze items and coordinate dispositions with the Sales / Marketing Teams so inventory can be allocated according to the appropriate categories: expired/dispose, donate, QA, damaged, and 2nd market. Coordinate a monthly conference call with the Sales Team Accounting, Warehouse and Distribution to discuss.
    • Generate accurate Anticipated Shortage Report from JDE which is posted in the Portal daily for plants/planners to review and comment.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with preference in Supply Chain management, Finance and/or Logistics. In lieu of degree, 5 or more years of equivalent experience will be accepted.
    • Experience with TMS/WMS preferred.
    • Experience using Supply Chain systems, tools and applications preferred
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation, warehouse, customs, international trade, manufacturing, and/or distribution.
    • Demonstrated personal accountability for results
    • Detail oriented and self-starter
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Data Base applications
    • Ability to generate queries and organize data
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced, deadline type setting.
    • Ability to organize, interpret and disburse large amounts of information
