  • Overview

    Strategize, plan and direct all functions of the Marketing Services & Communications department to support all Foodservice channels and to protect and promote AFNA with marketing services capabilities. Includes 4-5 direct and indirect reports, establishing procedures, coaching and directing personal development for all team members, craft roles and responsibilities, prioritize initiatives, delegate and deploy projects, development of project management disciplines to maximize department production, efficiencies and collaboration.

    Responsibilities

    Foodservice Marketing Communications:

     

    • Guide and direct team’s initiatives to increase profits, including category management promotional efforts, sales and broker promotions, marketing brochures, merchandising materials, and coupons for all FS channels, social media, flyers and interactive materials as needs are identified.

     

    • Leads and directs Marketing Services & Communications team in the management of company websites to ensure accurate and effective messaging for Ajinomotofoodservice.com, broker extranet, POS ordering site, GS-1 marketing information and product images.

     

    • Lead major company events to ensure professional representation of the company, including development of strategies, crafting of messages, creation of theme, graphics, design, creation and execution of marketing services materials. Management of internal and external creative teams & budget.

     

    • Guide and direct team’s initiatives to increase demand and awareness, including digital strategy initiative and tools, social media platforms, distributor tradeshow projects, custom presentations and overall marketing support for all foodservice channels.

     

    Event, Meeting, Trade Show Management:

     

    • Lead major channel events and shows to ensure success, leverage relationships with customers and promote profitability, including development of strategies, crafting of messages, creation of theme, graphics, design, creation and execution of marketing services materials. Events include National Meeting, SNA, NACUFS, regional chain events and other high profile customer meetings and strategic customer commitments.

     

     

    Marketing Insights & Research:

     

    • Lead market research function for all Foodservice channels including both internal and external research data.  
    • Management of agency partners and dissemination of research learnings to foodservice team members. Assist with driving & supporting data-driven innovation and business development efforts.

     

    Fulfillment & Redemption Management:

    •  Manage internal and external fulfillment and redemption resources including analysis and business development efforts to ensure efficient marketing spend, drive incremental business growth opportunities, and ensure AFNA brand integrity.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Foodservice marketing
    • BS or BA degree, in business, marketing or related field. MBA preferred but not required
    • Extensive experience in understanding Foodservice customer needs and market insights
    • Experience working with outside research partners, advertising agencies, and fulfillment & redemption service providers
    • Experience with event planning & trade show management
    • Strong project management and analytical skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal, writing, organizational, communication and presentations skills required.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office
    • Proven leadership ability
