  • Overview

    The Onboarding and Training Specialist will onboard all provider new hires and assist with other onboarding responsibilities. This role will also provide training to new employees.

    The focus of this position is to reduce employee turnover, increase employee retention and make the environment in which employees work more welcoming and supportive on long-term employee retention initiatives.


    • Advise all relevant parties of the date and time on which the new-hire will start (Department Manager, Shift Manager, Supervisor, etc.)
    • Create first day/week agendas to provide the new employee with a clear and concise set of expectations.
    • Answer any questions the new hire may (work schedule, meal and rest periods, company product, tour of facilities, location of break room(s), location of restroom, location of time clock, etc.)
    • Shadow and train new-hires during their first week to ensure comfort with the work environment.
    • Complete new-hire materials and submit them to Department Manager and Human Resources Department in a timely fashion.
    • Act as a Liaison between Department Manager, Shift Manager and employee for all relevant communication to and from the employee.
    • Assists or prepares correspondence as needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.



    • 1-2 years of college education or similar experience within in a fast-paced environment.
    • Desire to learn manufacturing processes of the company.
    • A deep desire to nurture newly hired and other employees, in support of employee retention
    • Flexible, willing to take on more responsibilities as needed, and devote time necessary to be successful in the position
    • Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive information
    • Must have experience with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Strong communication skills are required. Bilingual English/Spanish or English/Chinese.
    • Proficient with MS Office products and is comfortable maintaining spreadsheets, creating reports, preparing org charts, and drafting/editing correspondence with a high level of attention to detail.
    • Strong customer service skills.
