  • Overview

    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    A working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of shop equipment (lathes, presses, grinders, saws, hand held power tools, etc).

    Responsibilities

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledgeable of electricity and electrical controls (2 yrs).
    • Able to predict and initiate preventative measures for the purpose of avoiding equipment down time & potential damage to equipment.
    • Knowledge of mechanical, pressure, and electrical measuring devices
    • Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of plumbing and hydraulic systems.
    • Work proficiently with little to no supervision
    • Knowledgeable of sanitary and food safety procedures. Also, in food processing & packaging equipment.
    • Working knowledge of pneumatic & hydraulic devices & controls.
    • Ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
    • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems with the manufacturing equipment.
    • Basic ability to read & understand equipment blueprints, electrical schematics, and manuals.
    • Experience in welding, both tig and stic a plus.
    • Can read a multi meter.
    • Must have your own hand tools.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

     

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The work environment may be noisy, dusty, slippery, hot or cold, depending on the particular product and manufacturing processes being carried out. Workers are required to regularly wash their hands with anti-bacterial soap and wear protective clothing including hair nets, gloves, masks and overalls, which will help avoid contaminating products.

     

    PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:

    Frequent use of hands to finger, handle, grasp or touch objects and tools.

    Frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, reaching. Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Working in cold rooms (below 40 degrees Fahrenheit) for extended periods is likely.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
